You might remember him from such bands as, erm, Pink Floyd? Bassist Guy Pratt has now turned his hand to comedy, heading to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival via this year’s Adelaide Fringe after his unceremonious dismissal from Roxy Music’s world tour.
Wake Up Call is no ripsnorter of comedic genius but his first-hand account of some of rock’s most bizarre moments make Guy’s show well worth seeing. From giant pigs pissing on a stadium full of Pink Floyd fans to the perils of smashing a graphite-neck bass guitar, Guy digs the dirt some of rock’s most debaucherous moments. And some not-so-debaucherous. Find out which rock star obsessively collected hotel margarine sachets and who released his very own brand of metal detectors. That’s some crazy fucked up rock’n’roll shit, man.
