Remember when Gumby (that green clay humanoid figure) used to jump into his favourite illustrations to be transported into another world?  This is how I feel when I see the work of photographer and artist, Damien Blottiere. It stirs ideas of three dimensional space on a two dimensional plane. The curved cutouts create openings for ideas behind the facade… letting two, three or four different images speak to each other and the viewer at the same time. A twisted montage acting as a gateway into a surreal world of wonder. The paper layers open up for magical fantasies, go forth everyone… Get your dream on.
